Meet the Owner
Hi! I'm Tanie. Welcome to my apothecary!
I grew up getting my hands dirty in the garden, helping out at both my house and my grandmother's. I started dabbling more seriously with herbalism after high school (way back in 2011). I started growing herbs for the specific purpose of using them medicinally. When I eventually got my own place in Japan, I started blending my own teas and using my herbs for even more.
I started taking courses and doing serious study work on herbalism, then started making my own extracts and tinctures. The moved into making skin care products and soaps, then medicines... I was totally hooked!
I started handing out my homemade goods to friends and family. I was only doing it because I thoroughly enjoy creating these things! Their support was overwhelming. After some final pushes from a few, I finally took the leap and created a website where I can sell my goods and hopefully make a little profit!
Meet her family
I currently live in Florida with my husband, Yohei, who I'm utterly crazy about. He's always been supportive in my herbalism journey, never questioning my products before trying them out.
Sometimes, I will walk up to him with a spoon and just tell him to open up. He eats/drinks whatever I'm giving him without a single hesitation; not even a, "what is it?".
He's a huge reason I'm able to do what I do.
Meet "the boys"
Elvis (left) and Cooper (right) are two other supporters! Granted, they don't know that they're helping me... but they are!
I love my boys so much it can hurt sometimes. The thought of them leaving me too early shatters my heart. That's why I also study canine specific herbalism. I won't put anything on my site that I wouldn't also give my own boys.
